5 tips for a healthier holiday weekend
 

Sometimes, the holiday season can derail our efforts to make healthy choices. Check out the tips below for suggestions of healthy choices that we can make during the holiday weekend. 

1. Drink water!

If you like juice, pop/soda, or other sugary drinks, consider limiting yourself to one serving. 

2. Fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables.

Take smaller portions of other parts of the meal. Enjoy your favorite holiday foods while being mindful of portion sizes.

3. Dance.

Turn on holiday music and show off your best dance moves. Encourage your family to join in!

4. Take a break.

If you feel stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed during the festivities, take deep breaths and/or go to a quieter room.

5. Promote good sleep. 

Avoid using your phone or tablet in bed. The light from these devices can disrupt our sleep. Remember, Santa knows when you're awake!
