Did you know? There are medical care guidelines for children, adolescents, and adults with Down syndrome.

The medical care guidelines for people with Down syndrome (DS) are evidence-based recommendations developed to help people with DS get appropriate and optimal health care. They are important because many people with DS have health needs that might not be met by following guidelines for people without DS. For example, people with DS are more likely to have thyroid disease than people without DS, so the guidelines recommend more frequent testing for thyroid disease. We encourage individuals with DS and their families to share the guidelines with their health care providers. Links to the guidelines are shared below.
