Did you know? A behavior change may be one way that a person with Down syndrome communicates. 

A change in behavior may be one way an individual with Down syndrome communicates that they are experiencing a physical or mental health issue, social or environmental stressor, sensory challenge, or a combination of these situations. Identifying the cause of a behavior change often requires being a "detective" and closely observing the individual. In this Behavior Change article, Brian Chicoine, MD, shares resources with strategies for identifying the cause of a behavior change.
