Down Syndrome Awareness Month - October 21

Did you know? Learning social skills is a lifelong process for people with Down syndrome.

Engaging with and responding to others in our world can be challenging for all of us at times. The “rules” of appropriate social interaction are often unwritten, can change based on the setting, and usually require abstract thinking. Rules that were learned in school may not apply to the work or community setting and/or may need to be reviewed or reinforced. We have over 50 social skills resources in our Resource Library for individuals with Down syndrome. They cover topics such as conversation skills, managing conflict, tips for dealing with stress, and more.
