Down Syndrome Awareness Month - October 30

Did you know? Ear wax buildup is common in people with Down syndrome.

Ear wax, also called cerumen, is produced by our bodies to clean, protect, and lubricate our ear canals. It is more common in people with Down syndrome. This is likely due to ear canals that are often smaller or more curved, making it difficult for the body’s natural processes to remove the wax. Learn more and read about ways to remove ear wax in this Ear Wax Buildup article by Brian Chicoine, MD.
