Many people are eager to get the COVID-19 vaccine. We are receiving many questions about when and how individuals with Down syndrome and their families can receive the vaccine. The situation continues to change and varies from state-to-state (and within states, as is the case in Illinois). We suggest following your state and local public health departments for the most up-to-date information about vaccine distribution plans and supply. Our Resource Library provides links to COVID-19 vaccine information for several counties in Illinois. Please see this resource.
At this time, we do not have COVID-19 vaccines at our clinic. When vaccines are available, patients of the Adult Down Syndrome Center will be able to receive the vaccine at an Advocate Aurora Health site (on a rolling basis depending on age and risk factors). Vaccine appointments will be scheduled through the MyAdvocateAurora portal. It can be accessed online or with the LiveWell app.
