Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic skin condition that can cause painful bumps and sores on the skin and range in severity from mild to severe. HS is more common in people with Down syndrome. In May 2022, the U.S. and Canadian Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundations recommended that people with Down syndrome be screened annually for this condition. We have shared several resources below with information on HS in people with Down syndrome.
