The video below is a recording of a webinar presented by Katie Frank, PhD, OTR/L, Senior Occupational Therapist at the Adult Down Syndrome Center.
Description:
As adults with Down syndrome age, it may become more difficult for them to independently complete daily activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, and toileting. Their ability to participate in leisure activities and social opportunities may also become compromised. This can be frustrating to the individual as well as their caregivers who question why the individual is no longer able to do the things they used to be able to do so easily. A caregiver may need to offer different assistance or provide more supervision. In this webinar, Katie Frank, PhD, OTR/L, Senior Occupational Therapist at the Adult Down Syndrome Center, provides strategies to modify or adapt activities for the safety of aging adults with Down syndrome as well as their caregivers. She also shares resources and answers questions during a Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
