Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (World Health Organization). People with Down syndrome can and should be active participants in promoting their health! In this webinar, Brian Chicoine, MD, identifies key ingredients of health, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, meaningful activities and social connections, and social skills. He also describes practical ways families can encourage their loved ones with Down syndrome to be healthy, and shares free resources for people with Down syndrome, families and caregivers, and professionals.
