Woodbine House Publishing is closing

April 11, 2022 07:00 AM
Thank you, Woodbine House Publishing

We are saddened to share that Woodbine House Publishing has announced that they will be closing in June. Woodbine is the publisher of Dr. Brian Chicoine and Dr. Dennis McGuire’s two books on physical and mental health of teens and adults with Down syndrome. Dr. Chicoine shared, “It has been a pleasure to work with the wonderful team at Woodbine and we appreciate all their efforts over the years to share information as the ‘Publisher of the Special Needs Collection…books for parents, children, teachers, and other professionals.’ Their many contributions are appreciated.”

After Woodbine closes, Dr. Chicoine and Dr. McGuire’s books will go out of print. If you are unable to get a copy, we recommend reaching out to your local Down syndrome organization or local library to find out if they have a copy you can borrow. We are also looking into the possibility of self-publishing them as eBooks.

The Guide to Good Health for Teens & Adults with Down Syndrome is available on Woodbine's website. The 2nd edition of Mental Wellness in Adults with Down Syndrome is no longer available on Woodbine's website but it is still available on other booksellers' websites (such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble).
