Alzheimer's Disease Video Journal Segment 5b

September 2018 | Adult Down Syndrome Center - Video Journal

The video below is the fifth segment of our Alzheimer's Disease Video Journal, which consists of interviews with Colleen Buffington, a woman with Down syndrome who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in December 2016, and Bo Thompson, Colleen's sister and caregiver. Colleen and Bo have graciously agreed to share their journey with us. This segment was filmed on September 19, 2018. It shows Colleen's post-work routine. Routine is very important in her day-to-day life. Her sister Bo says, "The video is great in showing the deliberate way in which Colleen does everything. I am so grateful for the established routine for a couple of main reasons. First, it has allowed me to pick up on changes more quickly. Second, it has helped her go on with her 'normal' life from her long term memory."
